As long as you stick to just using renders and aren't directly sharing their assets as part of your game distribution, it's highly unlikely you will run into issues. But you're always taking a bit of a risk of them coming after you with intimidation tactics to shut you down, but they haven't done that to anyone yet. If you are extra paranoid, you can just avoid using any of the vanilla assets that come with the base game and stick to community provided mod content, most of the best stuff will come from there anyhow.

Thanks for that, now I'm starting to suspect that the issue may be that Solus doesn't have the Vulkan stuff setup properly, since I can't find that smoketest utility mentioned in that thread for checking Vulkan support.
